Pamella Schiappacase Galleguillos was born in Valparaíso, Chile. Art has always been part of her DNA. From a very young age, she studied music at the Conservatory of the University of Chile, where drawing and color continually captivated her and guided her toward a life in the arts. She later studied design in Santiago.

For many years, she practiced ceramic art and even became a teacher. However, her curiosity and constant drive to evolve pushed her to explore new techniques, experiment with different materials, and develop her own glazes. It was through working with clay that she began a journey into three-dimensional form—an exploration that, over the years, led her to discover a new world and eventually to bronze, marking a decisive new chapter in her artistic career.

She studied in the workshop of sculptor Octavio Román, a graduate of the University of Chile, who guided her in the art of sculpture and taught her fundamental techniques, including lost-wax bronze casting, aluminum casting, marble carving, working with reconstituted stone, and the use of resins.

Over time, her personal style evolved into evocative yet organic human figures that leave room for imagination. Women—divided yet dual—stand at the center of her work: figures that inspire, that possess the power to become something greater than themselves.

Her work speaks of women prepared to take flight, to escape into another reality—an ideal world beyond this one—guided by immense inner strength that resides within all of us and moves us forward each day. These are not only human women, but beings driven by the deepest motivations of the soul, intertwined and complementary to one another.

This is what her work expresses: the greatness of the spirit, its unique ability to make the impossible possible, and its infinite power that continues to burn within each of us, even when it seems to fade.

Today, monumental sculpture has become a fundamental part of her artistic journey. She is the founder of G&R Esculturas, a leading artistic foundry specializing in the creation and restoration of monuments and statues, providing services to fellow artists and offering sculpture classes. This chapter has been one of the most significant milestones of her career, allowing her to share her vision and knowledge and to establish her work in cities throughout Chile alongside renowned Chilean artists.

Artist Statement

As a sculptor, my work is a reflection on spirituality—where metal and glass are transformed into vehicles of light, truth, and harmony.

Every piece is born from my hands. I melt metal, model forms, blow glass, sculpt shapes, and finish and assemble each figure, ensuring that the entire process is an integral expression of my vision.

In my series “Dualidad” (Duality), I explore the union of opposites through the feminine figure, highlighting its transformative role in society. By fusing two contrasting parts into a single entity, my work invites reflection on integration, the expansion of consciousness, and the capacity to bring more light into the world.

More than objects, my sculptures are portals—dialogues between matter and energy, between the visible and the invisible—created with the purpose of uniting the world above with the world below, connecting the spiritual with the earthly.
